The Bruins fired head coach Bruce Cassidy. Thoughts? Take our poll.

Did anyone else’s jaw drop to the floor when they saw the Boston Bruins fired head coach Bruce Cassidy on Monday? Because mine sure did. A state of shock is the only way I can describe my reaction to the organization’s decision to let him go. And here’s why:

Cassidy had 245 wins, 108 losses (46 in overtime) in regular season contests. That’s a .672 winning percentage. And in the postseason – he was 36-37. Plus – Cassidy was just named the NHL’s head coach of the year two years ago.

I believe the Bruins biggest issue is their player acquisition problem, but Don Sweeney is a man with a plan, and I am curious to see the new direction he wants the team to go in.
