Texas vs. Oklahoma softball picks, predictions: Who wins Women's College World Series?

Check out these picks and predictions for Wednesday’s game in Oklahoma City, which will air on ESPN at 5:30 p.m. Arizona time, as well as the championship series.

Andrew Miller writes: “Texas is likely going with senior pitcher Hailey Dolcini as the starter in Game 1 in the WCWS Finals on June 8. But White is clearly comfortable with giving some valuable innings on the mound to Estelle Czech along with Dolcini. We will see both of them at some point during the WCWS Finals. Day and the Longhorns will need more than just a clutch gene that hits at the right time to top an opponent as good as Oklahoma. The pitching will need to be stellar (likely not allowing more than five earned runs per game) and the bats will need to provide some valuable and steady run support.”

Cora Hall predicted that the Longhorns and Sooners would meet up in the final before the Women’s College World Series began. She picked Texas in Game 1, but had Oklahoma winning Games 2 and 3. She wrote: “Oklahoma was the clear No. 1 team in the country all season, and the Sooners have continued to prove that through the tournament. Their talent and experience will carry them through Oklahoma City, and I think OU has what it takes to win it all back-to-back.”

Kirk Bohls writes: “In the last three weeks, Texas won a regional on the road after losing a game to host Washington, won a super regional on the road at Fayetteville after dropping the first game to host Arkansas, toppled 12-time champion UCLA in the opener of the Women’s College World Series, battled five-time champion Oklahoma until fading at the end after having inflicted on the powerful Sooners one of their three losses out of 58 games and then whipped Arizona and Oklahoma State twice to reach the final twosome. Yep, they’re dangerous all right.”
