Cam Newton shares his assessment of Mac Jones' NFL future

After Cam Newton served as the starting quarterback in the 2020 campaign and the three 2021 preseason games for New England, the Patriots released the former NFL MVP in the final roster cut to go with rookie Mac Jones as their signal-caller last season.

Jones’ name came up when Newton and one of the podcast’s hosts, former NFL linebacker Channing Crowder, debated the former Auburn All-American’s NFL future.

Newton remains unsigned after playing in eight games with the Carolina Panthers last season. While acknowledging he couldn’t be viewed now as one of the top QBs in the NFL, Newton maintained he would be a better option than some of the quarterbacks slated to be starters in 2022.
